We’ve actually taken off two weekends in a row recently to do nothing but be tourists in our adopted home town…for us, this is extremely rare; the events of the past month have made us slow down a little bit and appreciate what we have all around us.
This is me on Avenida 9 de Julio, the widest street in the world:

Like all great cities, Buenos Aires is always unpredictable. Upon exiting the subway Sunday morning, we stumbled upon a film shoot right as a stuntman was leaping six stories into a gigantic blue cushion.
It was an auspicious beginning to the day.
We walked for awhile down Calle Florida, i.e. The Seventh Circle of Tourist Hell and poked around the Tango Festival. It was absolutely swarmed. Side note: I am seriously lusting after tango shoes now…
On our way we crossed the Circulo Militar. I have no idea what was going on, but it looked like this:

Walking home, there must have been some sort of soccer victory:
Lots of group-think beauty today. I hadn’t expected it.
